Author Guidance

 

Submission Topics

 Authors are invited to submit their research results in any of the following areas:

  • Health, Medical Technology and Telemedicine
  • Disaster Warning and Response
  • Water planing, Availability and Quality
  • Power for Off-Grid Users
  • Power Infrastructure / Renewable / Sustainable Energy
  • Connectivity and Communications Technologies for Remote Locations
  • Educational Technologies
  • Humanitarian Challenges and Opportunities

In addition, authors are invited to submit papers in the category of Field Experiences in any of the areas listed above or topics generally related to the conference theme. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and in IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Research papers are reviewed as completed works, submitted in camera-ready format. Incomplete, preliminary, and in-progress submissions will have a significant disadvantage in the review process.

Requirements for Conference Papers

In order to maintain consistency and high standards, all authors must follow the following guidelines when preparing and submitting their papers. Any questions should be sent to the Conference Program Co-Chairs Dr. Ted Weiler and Randy Britto Program.ghtc@ieee.org

Deadline to submit conference papers is May 11, 2013.

All submissions must be written in English. Submissions must not be longer than 6 (six) pages including abstract, figures, illustrations tables and references. Submissions over 6 (six) pages will not be considered. Only complete manuscripts should be submitted. Abstract-only submissions will not be considered. 

Papers must be formatted according to IEEE conference guidelines. Templates may be accessed here. Authors should use the US letter template. 

Papers must not be commercial in nature, and have not been published in other conference proceedings, journals, magazines or other media. 

Notification of acceptance will be sent July 15, 2013 via email only, and posted on the website. Authors of unaccepted submissions will be also notified July 15, 2013 by email. 

Accepted papers must be presented to be included in IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

Authors of accepted papers will have an opportunity to revise their submissions for inclusion in the electronic media until August 6, 2013. 

The maximum size of the abstract is 2000 characters. 

Submissions are only accepted in PDF (maximum 10MB).

Policies

Dual/Double Submissions: By submitting a manuscript to GHTC, the authors guarantee that it has not been previously published (or accepted for publication) in substantially similar form. Furthermore, no paper which contains significant overlap with the contributions of the current paper is either under review at the moment of submission or will be submitted during the GHTC 2013 review period to any of the following: another conference, a workshop, or a journal.
